Thanks to readers..

Hi readers,

First of all, thanks a lot for sparing your valuable time to go through my blog.

I sincerely dedicate this blog to my lovable grandfather who passed away few months back leaving our entire family in great grief.

I assure that the time spent will be mind blowing after seeing the astounding efforts and enormous talent of the wonderful human, who created these artistic works at his 78 years of age.

"He who works with his hands is a laborer.
He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman.
He who works with his hands, his head and his heart, is an artist."
- St.Francis of Assissi

I feel the above saying would have been written for my grandpa, who was such a brilliant & talented artist. And I take pride in exposing his talents in this blog which are valuable treasures to our family.

He started drawing just like that to spend his time in a useful manner with ordinary color pencils, sketch pens, etc., whatever available at home. Having closely watched him while drawing by just seeing a small model photograph, his complete dedication and involvement in sculpting his creations made all of us dumbstruck. He exclusively selected many God pictures for his lovable hobby. Without any of our help, the picture outline, strokes, curves, color shades, color spray works, background, decorations, etc., etc., will be drawn by him effortlessly and finally he will draw the eyes which will bring the picture realistic and lively.

Though he passed away & left us, his memories will remain in our hearts forever in the form of his amazing arts & his passion towards art.

I would like to thank my parents, who made me what I am today and my family members, who supported me in creating this blog. Special thanks to my grandpa who encouraged, blessed & wished me in each & every step of my life.

I would also like to extend my thanks to our  family friend, Shri. Abiram Sundar, for his kind support and initiative taken to encourage me in creating this blog exclusively for the kindness and respect he had towards my grandfather.

Thank you all.

Om Shri Ganeshaya Namaha..

Its better to start any good thing with the blessings of Lord Ganesha!
So I'm posting His drawing first :)
That tiny little Mooshik is my favorite in this pic :)

Its our Ganapathi again!!!

This Ganesha comes with a lot of detailing and very minute spray works in the background, if you can notice..

The Goddess of Nourishment..

The Hindu Goddess, who is treated as the 'giver of food' - Annapoorani Devi

The Goddess who cures illness..

Another famous Hindu Goddess, who is believed to cure any sort of ailment, with her enormous powers. - Samayapuram Mariamman

My grandpa really had a lot of faith in her. And as a token of his profound devotion, he made this picture.

The Goddess of wealth..

Of course, it is Goddess Mahalakshmi, who bestows everyone with wealth and prosperity.

The Goddess of Knowledge and art..

Goddess Saraswathi - I feel she had blessed my grandpa abundantly with such a kind of gift, that every art you see here is just his first try..
I remember wasting a lot of my record book pages just to get one diagram of a science specimen right.

All I can say is, 'Thatha.. We really miss you..' ;'(

Saraswathi ma again..

She had experimented with him to make her picture again and again.. :)
And as far as my family knows, every time he did it with complete devotion and dedication!!

The one who mesmerizes with his flute..

Here is the little Krishna, holding Butter in his hand, and also looking very cute. :)

Lord Manikandan - the one with gem around his neck

Lord Ayyappan - known to be the son of Lord Siva and Lord Vishnu.

The one residing on the seventh hill..

Tirupati Venkateshwara - The richest God who can also shower enormous blessings to save the mankind from the troubles of Kali Yuga.

Uppiliappan..

Lord Uppiliappan - is another incarnation of Lord Vishnu and is considered as the elder brother of Lord Tirupati Balaji. Thus, any prayers pending for Lord Balaji is accepted by this Lord as well.

I remember my grandpa being very emotional after he completed this picture, since He is our family God.

The history of this Lord is very interesting that I had heard since I was a child.
I would suggest the interested readers to have a look about this temple in wiki, when you find time -  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uppiliappan_Temple

Shri Shirdi Sai..

Karunamoorthy Shri Shirdi Sai.

Ananthakoti brhamaandanayaka raajathi raja yogi raja
Parabrhama sachidhananda sathguru Shri Sainath Maharaj ki Jai!!

Lord Hanuman..

Lord Hanuman ji - the staunch devotee of Lord Rama.. And that is why my grandpa wanted to reproduce that moment, when Hanuman revealed His innocence and sincere Bhakthi towards Lord Rama, by tearing His heart.

This is one of my close-to-heart pictures, as I feel it seems so realistic.

Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram

Shri Lakshmi Narasimhar..

Lord Lakshmi Narasimhar with his Consort Lakshmi

Lord Karthikeyan..

Lord Dakshinamurthi - is a manifestation of Lord Siva and He is the ruling God for planet Jupiter i.e.; Guru Bhagawan

He is also considered as the guru for all kinds of knowledge (jnana)

Lord Guruvayurappan - Worshiped as Lord Krishna in His child form.

Shri Raghavendra..

Sathya Sai Baba..

Shri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi - whom my grandpa was very fond of, and followed his motto of

'Love all.. Serve all..
Help ever.. Hate Never..'

Jesus Christ..

This picture was an outcome of a special request to my grandpa, from one of his friends.
He simply believed that, the Almighty is the same and He is one supreme power controlling us.

And that is why he was able to bring Lord Jesus back in this picture, with the complete mercy in His eyes.

Kanchi Periyavar..

Shri Chandrashekarendra Saraswathi Swamigal - was the 68th Jagadguru of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.
He is the greatest Indian sage of recent times.

And this was my grandpa's last work :'(

Father of our Nation..

Not only my Grandpa was religious, but also very patriotic that, he was inspired by many national leaders.
He made this sketch of Gandhiji with 'Indian Ink' in 1960.

Pandit Nehru..

Jawaharlal Nehru - This work was completely made from 'spray paint', if you observe closely.

We really miss our grandpa a lot :'( Lost such a talented soul.

Swami Vivekananda..

Swami Vivekananda - a Hindu Monk, known for his philosophies and conceptions of dealing with life.

Thiruvalluvar

Thiruvalluvar - The famous tamil poet, well known for his two lined verses, that provides an insight into human morals and basic ethics of life.

I always used to wonder about the little little depictions my grandpa gives for every picture.
In this one, you could notice few poems he has added on the palm scriptures, laying around.

Taj Mahal..

This is yet another masterpiece of my grandpa.
Guessed it ? .....

Right.. He made this work with an old typewriting machine, with all available symbols and letters.

Thank you..

This used to be the last picture in his album and I wanted to post the same as the last picture in this blog as well.

Thanks a lot for taking your time in viewing the best treasures, our grandpa left for our family.

He is the one who taught us about the crests and troughs of life, through his living. He never hated or hurt anyone, but helped everyone who were in need.
And he passed away in a way he desired... Without troubling anyone! But the truth is, 'You trouble us more now grandpa.. :'( Without your presence near us..'
WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH AND MISS YOU MORE THAN THAT...

But as I mentioned in my first post, we all feel that he really is living with us ever..
I dedicate this blog to you thatha.. May your soul rest in Peace..
